welcome - deputy head

It is a great pleasure and privilege to be given the opportunity to join the exceptional community of St Joseph’s School.   I have been made most welcome by the pupils and staff at the school as I settle in to my new role as Deputy Head and Head of Food Technology.   I thoroughly enjoyed attending the inspirational Prize Day in June and
talking to some of our parents.  I very much look forward to meeting all of our parents, current and prospective as we journey through this very busy and exciting new school year.

Here at St Joseph’s we give our pupils a firm foundation for life establishing a lifelong love of learning in this exceptional, unique and independent school.

We are non-selective school proving opportunity in an intellectually stimulating environment for high aspiration and
achievement.  Our excellent examination results evidence the outstanding dedication of our staff who focus on pupils’ individual needs, enabling them to be the very best they can be.

St Joseph’s pupils are happy and thoughtful with well developed spiritual and moral values.  They have great fun at school, look after each other and the environment around them.  Our Head Girl and Head Boy lead the Prefect team providing all pupils with the ability to contribute to the development of their school through our School Council where healthy, vibrant debate is the ‘order of the day’.

Our St Joseph’s education offers a wealth of opportunity for your sons and daughters to take responsibility, become leaders and engage in exciting and interesting clubs and activities in and out of school.  The pupils are challenged in their academic, sporting, creative and technological lives taking risks in secure environments, understanding the benefits of failure and the importance of service to others.

I am incredibly proud of the pupils’ impressive sporting achievements.  We resource our school well and our new Astro is a superb recent addition to our estate, used by the whole Community.

The pupils’ confident and fluent use of new technologies enables them to rapidly deepen their learning.  Our pupils are balanced in their approach to their whole education, focusing on well being as well as personal achievement.

St Joseph’s School has great history and heritage.  We have an active Parents Association and an exceptional Governing Body.  We are a distinctive and strong community, well placed in this wonderful county of Cornwall to offer your son and daughter the very best independent education.

I warmly invite you to come and experience the warmth, vitality and essence of what is St Joseph’s School.  It would be lovely to welcome you for a visit.  Please do email me if you have any query relating to The Senior School Kathryn.macaulay@stjosephscornwall.co.uk.
