St Joseph’s School has an impressive reputation both within the South West and beyond for providing its pupils with an outstanding education, enabling them to achieve their potential and providing them with a firm foundation for life.
In Reception our very experienced, caring teachers provide the readiness for learning that gives our pupils the head start they need for success. The bright, stimulating environment offers a wealth of opportunities for all styles of learning and interest.
All lessons are carefully planned to meet the individual needs of our pupils whilst ensuring that a high element of fun and enjoyment are at the heart of all our learning.
Music. Library and French are taught by specialist teachers. Our librarians lead interactive storytelling time and we enjoy a weekly visit to our Orchard for outdoor learning.
The Reception children take an active part in whole-school life, including musical productions, special assemblies, open afternoons and seasonal celebrations.
During the school day pupils also have the option to access ballet classes, tennis coaching and private music lessons.
We warmly invite you to visit St Joseph’s School to see for yourself the outstanding opportunities and head start to learning our Reception classe can offer your child.

Children may enter the Reception class in the September after their fourth birthday. They may attend on a full or part-time basis as you wish. Session times are as below. You can increase the number of sessions your child attends at any time. The Reception Teacher will be happy to discuss this with you.
Session Times: 8.30am – 12noon or 8.30am -1pm (including lunch) or 8.30 - 3.30pm
Please note that children are required to attend school full-time in the term after their fifth birthday.
There is a facility for children in Reception to stay on at school after 3.30pm if required from Monday to Thursday. This is a play based session available until 5pm. It is supervised by our existing team, who know the children well.
In the term before your child is due to start we would like them to attend a Taster Session, this will help the staff to get to know your child before they are due to start. They can attend up to three taster sessions.
If you would like to find out further information about places available in the Reception Class please contact our Registrar, Rebecca Walker on 01566 772580 or firstname.lastname@example.org
