We are very pleased with the report and as you can see there are many positives, not least of which is the fact that so many areas of activity within the school are rated as excellent.
It was very satisfying that the Inspectors felt that all the recommendations made in the last Inspection Report have been fully implemented.
The School will continue to develop and, as with any organisation, there are always areas for improvement and whilst being very happy with the report, there is no room for complacency and both the Governors, SMT and staff are committed to ensuring that St Joseph’s School remains the Independent school of choice in the South West.

The school provides a highly tailored range of opportunities in the curriculum for children and pupils of all ages. And a good variety of activities, both of which greatly support their achievements.

A particular strength of the curriculum is the flexible approach the school takes, with great emphasis given to suiting the curriculum to the needs of individual pupils.
Teaching effectively promotes pupils’ leaning and fulfils the aims of the school.
There is an excellent rapport between pupils and teachers and this engenders a lack of self-consciousness about volunteering answers and participation more generally. This is a particular strength of the school.
The quality of the pupils’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural development is excellent.
The pupils’ social awareness is outstanding. Pupils are supportive of one another and have highly friendly relationships which promote the sense of community within the school. Pupils’ behaviour in lessons and around the school is exemplary.
Pastoral care is a particular strength of the school. Throughout the school, committed and caring staff provide effective support and guidance for pupils and children in accordance with the schools aim. Pupils
trust their teachers and carers.
