“St Joseph's has exceeded all our expectations providing the excellent academic and pastoral care that we were looking for. Each child is treated as an individual and each family is valued. The school at every level are welcoming and positive and communication is second to none. St Joseph's is a school that engages every pupil allowing them to achieve their true potential. We have been truly impressed with the variety of activities that our son has been involved in during such a short period of time at the school and how well the staff understand him as a person and his needs. We only wish we had joined St Joseph's sooner.” Mr & Mrs Heard
“‘Both our two children have been with St. Joseph’s School, Launceston for under a year, yet, in this short period of time, we have noticed an enormous (and pleasing) change in our offspring. We have found that they are constantly challenged, stimulated and rewarded as well as being treated with respect as individuals. Every child is valued and has a vital role to play and, unlike other schools, pastoral care is a necessity not a privilege” Mr & Mrs Stopher-Walker
“From their first day at St. Joseph’s, our daughters have been made to feel very welcome by both teachers and pupils. They love going to school now and really appreciate being made aware of and participating in the wide variety of interesting events organised each term. St. Joseph’s is exactly the learning environment we wanted for our children, with a strong sense of community and excellent teaching” Mr & Mrs Howells
“Our daughter joined St Joseph's in Year 7 and we have seen an amazing change in her. Since starting at St. Joe's she has found a new commitment to school and to learning....no more nagging in the morning for her to get up for school....no more nagging to get her to do her homework. Instead, a girl who is passionate about learning, about her singing and determined to do the best she can. Of course, it is not easy finding the fees every term, but the difference it is making to our daughter makes it very worthwhile."Mrs Carnegie
“When we came along to the Summer Open Day in 2009, we already knew of St Joseph's excellent reputation for academic, sporting and musical achievement. We also knew something of the caring and encouraging ethos of the school and its traditions. We were excited to hear about the proposed new developments and - having a seven year old son with boundless energy - were particularly interested to learn that the senior department would shortly be opening up to boys and there would be a Sixth Form too!At the Open Day we were immediately made to feel very welcome and were given a comprehensive and inspiring tour of the school by two very polite and enthusiastic young ladies in Year 7. We met the Headmaster, teaching and administrative staff and were introduced to some of the parents over coffee. The academic results spoke for themselves, but we were most impressed by the standard of behaviour, the keenness of both teachers and pupils to learn and the calm but efficient way in which the school was run. We sensed a very caring, respectful and inclusive environment - it was like a big family. Our son spent a very enjoyable taster day in school before we made the final decision to send him there in September 2009. We were all invited to the end of term Sports Day and Junior Prize giving Ceremony, both of which confirmed our decision and gave us a flavour of what was to come!Since arriving at St Joseph's, our son has settled in extremely well. He has an excellent teacher and is in a class of just eight. He is getting individual attention when he needs it academically and he has thoroughly enjoyed the full range of activities on offer. He is very much into sport, has already represented the school at tag rugby, plays tennis, and is trying his hand at piano. He is currently enthusiastically learning his lines and songs for the Junior Christmas production. We are finding it hard to keep up with him! We have seen a real change in him in just a few short weeks - he is now independent and confident (he travels on the school bus every day). He is always keen to go to school, join in with everything he possibly can and make the most of visits and outings. He is focussed on his work, even does his homework without complaining and has made lots of lovely new friends. We are delighted at his progress and are looking forward to getting more involved in St Joseph's school life in the future.” David and Sue Law
We have two children at St. Jo's and another one due to start in January. Our daughter was a late starter (age 14) and our son started age 7. The difference in their behaviour and attitude was apparent within such a short space of time, we were really amazed! Where this school stands out from the rest is that each child is made to feel an individual. Every pupil is encouraged and supported to develop a sense of self worth, and an enthusiasm for learning. Its not all about being 'brainy', its about having the right attitude to work and being happy in your school enviroment, and weve got to say that since being at St. Josephs weve seen our children become confident, contented and enthusiastic pupils. Sending your child to St. Josephs has proved to us that you are giving them the best start possible in readiness for 'the big wide world!!!' Mrs Cleave
