about the senior school
Our Senior School at St Joseph's is a small, happy and vibrant community. We strongly believe children flourish when they feel valued, happy and secure, and visitors sense a warm, family atmosphere as soon as they come into school.
We advocate a broad, well-balanced curriculum. As pupils progress we add subjects, offer broader choices and engage parents in the process, always paying close attention to each child's unique needs and abilities. No child takes more than 10 GCSEs; we aim for excellent results in a lower number of exams, and firmly believe that children should have time not only to enjoy what they learn, but to enjoy a wide range of extra-curricular activities too.
Pastorally, our team of tutors will guide your child, offering support and advice where necessary, nurturing lasting relationships of trust with the children, and helping them develop increased responsibility, confidence and independence.
We value and encourage the maturing young adults' contribution to day-to-day life, too, whether it's as Peer Listeners (helping younger students) or by filling the numerous positions of responsibility throughout the school, from bus and library monitors to team leaders, sports captains, head choristers or school council members.
