visiting & open days

St Joseph’s school holds open mornings during each term to enable parents and children to visit the school and get a real feel for what we have to offer.   

Open days give you the chance to see the school, speak to pupils and staff and have an informal chat with the Head Teacher, Deputy or Junior Head.  

Parents can also visit the school at any point throughout the year by prior appointment.   

Open Mornings (10am - 12noon)

If you cannot make the dates of the open mornings please come to see us during our other events or contact us to arrange a time and date convenient for you.

Reception Acitvity Session

• Thursday 15th March 2012 9.30am - 11.30am

If you child is due to start Reception Class in September 2012 now is the right time to find out about St Joseph's Reception Class.

Parents with their children are welcome to come and join in our morning of fun activities. These include:

Cooking, French, Art and Making Music led by Mrs Kemp and the Reception Class Team.

Nursery Cream Tea                 

• Friday 15th June 2012 – 2pm to 3.30pm  

Parents and children who are considering attending St Joseph’s Nursery are invited to attend the Nursery Cream Tea to enjoy a summer afternoon in the Nursery garden and meet the Early Years staff. (St Joseph’s Nursery Education starts at age 3)  

Open Evening                               

• Tuesday 25th September 2012 6.45pm.  

Boys and Girls currently in Years 5 and 6 who may wish to join St Joseph’s Year 7 Entry in 2013 and 2014 are invited to attend our Open Evening. This is an informal evening for parents and children to meet the Head Teacher, staff and other pupils and to have a tour of St Joseph’s School. The evening will give your son/daughter the chance to try a number of practical activities and get a real feel for the Senior School. A buffet will be provided. If you are interested in attending this event, it is essential to book as there are limited places available.

Taster Days 

We are happy to offer taster days to all prospective pupils. Taster days enable your child to see how the typical school day works at St Joseph’s and to meet the teaching staff and pupils within the school.  We feel that Taster days are an important introduction to the school and give your child the opportunity to find out whether they will enjoy this environment whilst giving our teachers the chance to get to know the child. We recommend that all children wishing to start at St Joseph’s have a least one taster day, however more can be arranged if this would be of benefit.
