Yesterday Year 1 had fun practising the names for parts of the body in French, with a Mr Potato Head dice game! Their pronunciation is brilliant. Mrs Scott is very proud! Well done Year 1.
French is taught from Reception Class to Year 6 at St Joseph’s with Spanish and German introduced in Year 7. There are many benefits for younger children learning an additional language. According to studies, foreign language learners also tend to have better-listening and sharper memory retrieval skills and it also increases their creativity, critical thinking skills, and flexibility of the mind.
