Today 4 Junior School pupils have ventured to London to participate in the finals of the Hitachi Rail Project. This is an engineering programme that supports practical STEM learning in schools. Children throughout the Junior School have had the opportunity to take part in STEM clubs this year and create their rail vehicles. The Key Stage 1 Science club also got involved creating some fantastic trains.
ย
The children have been working hard on their trains during after-school and lunchtime clubs and today their are showcasing their finished rail vehicles in front of the Hitachi Rail engineer judges.
ย
Good luck to Phoebe, Beth, Erin and Sophie!
ย
Thank you to Mr Renfree and Mrs Skerry for supporting the children and making the journey with them today.

Yesterday we hosted the ninth โ€œYoung Musician of the Yearโ€ competition in our School Hall. We were delighted to have David Robinson back to St Josephโ€™s to be our adjudicator for the morning, and he gave some fantastic feedback to all of our performers.
ย
After a very mature performance of โ€œPanis Angelicusโ€ (Franck) and a dramatic performance of โ€œGiants In The Skyโ€ (Sondheim), Ben Hodgson was the overall winner. We look forward to Ben being the recipient of the Bethany Hulme-Teague Cup as the official winner of this competition at Senior Prize Giving next week. Congratulations Ben!
ย
Well done to everyone who performed; it truly was an enjoyable morning of musicality.๐ŸŽผ
