I would like to say a huge thank you for all the support and sponsorship I have received from the wonderful parents, staff and pupils at St Joseph’s School in preparation for the Paris Marathon! Although it was very challenging I did manage complete the 26.2 miles with a injured knee! I am raising money for Cancer Research UK, if you would like to sponsor me please visit

Thank you for all your support, it was a truly amazing experience.

Congratulations to Evie Fairman from St Joseph’s School who has been selected to carry the Olympic Torch through Bodmin on the 19th May 2012. Evie was nominated because of the work she does with the national heart charity Little Hearts Matter; namely mentoring its younger child members to help them cope with living with a serious heart condition, as well as organising networking events for member families based in the South West to have some fun together as well as have the chance to discuss the shared problems and issues they deal with daily.

Little Hearts Matter offers support and information, and raises awareness of those affected when a child has only half a heart, due to conditions such as Complex Pulmonary Atresia, Tricuspid Atresia, Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS) or Double Inlet or Outlet Ventricle. Evie was born with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome, a condition which affects around 400 babies born each year. Evie is pictured above.

Foundation Stage Builders

As part of their nursery rhymes topic, the foundation stage learned how to build a wall for Humpty Dumpty. Many thanks to Mr Kevin Worth of R Worth and Son Builders for showing us how to trowel on the cement and make sure the bricks are level. Pictured are the Nursery and Reception builders, who all added a brick with Finlay Worth helping Humpty to sit still.

Nursery places are available for children aged 3+ in September 2012. If you would like to find out more about St Joseph’s School Nursery or arrange an appointment to view the school please contact Rebecca Walker on 01566 772580 or
