Year 1 visited Lawrence House museum to look around the Victorian kitchen.
They were fascinated by the tin bath and enjoyed hearing about family bath night in front of the range!
They handled an old iron and kettle and were very surprised at how heavy they were. They quickly realised that wash day entailed a lot of hard work without our modern machines.
The children also worked in the Toy Room and ordered toys in a time line from over 100 years ago to present day, learning about the different materials they were made from.
Thank you to Sylvia Wright for such an informative and enjoyable visit.
