Welcome from the Head of Junior School

I am extremely proud to be able to welcome you to the Junior School web pages and I have thoroughly enjoyed the start of my journey as Head Teacher here. Having worked at the school for many years it has been great to see the school grow and develop and I am excited to take the Juniors School forward in its next step as we move through this academic year and beyond.

Throughout my time working at St Joseph’s I have gained a real understanding of what it means to be part of our nurturing and supportive community. At the heart of everything we do in the Junior School is our children. We pride ourselves on recognising each child as an individual and providing a rich, challenging and supportive learning environment in which every pupil can thrive. Each day at St Joseph’s Junior School is stimulating, interesting and, most of all, enjoyable.

Our children act with compassion and show a real commitment to learning, not only in the academic sense but also taking the lessons from the daily challenges of growing up. They are supported through this by a team of an inspiring and committed teachers and support staff. Our staff know each and every child and our small class sizes enable them to build real relationships which last throughout their journey at school. We believe the relationships between staff, students and parents are fundamental to the success of our school community.

We understand it is a privilege to be able to educate our children here. We aim to provide a stimulating and varied curriculum which balances the use of new and innovative ideas and technology with plentiful outdoor learning opportunities and high expectations of all. In our view a broad and balanced learning environment is the best way to prepare our children for the ever changing world in which they will go into.

If you are considering St Joseph’s for your child please do not hesitate to get in touch. We would be delighted to show you around our school.
